Autumn is calling at the Worker’s Museum
The summer season at the Worker’s Museum will run until 1 November. This autumn, you will have the chance to discover the everyday lives of workers in the early 20th century through walking tours, reminiscing events and music. We hope to see you there!
Walking tour: Everyday life on the northern side of Pitkäsilta in the 1910s

This historical city walk, starting at the Worker’s Museum, explores life on the northern side of Pitkäsilta bridge in the 1910s. Through these contemporary stories, we will gain an insight into the everyday lives of working-class families, the restless atmosphere of the neighbourhood, and the impact of the First World War and political turmoil on the lives of the people of Helsinki. The guided tours will be held in Finnish. Tickets: 13 euros/person.

Memories from beyond Pitkäsilta bridge

During these popular reminiscing sessions, the museum’s volunteers read excerpts from the memoirs of Helsinki residents from the early 20th century in the atmospheric stove room. You can also share your own memories! Free entry.

Newspapers and songs

The performance by singer Laura Reunanen and visual artist Elina Saloranta will feature folk songs, old newspaper articles and stories from the era. You are welcome to join in the singing or simply enjoy the atmosphere of the old stove room. Free entry.
